Because there are a lot of Linux Distribution I have made an overview on how to get XiX Music Player working for your specific Linux Distribution.

Linux (x86)

Make sure the BASS libraries are installed. You can install these libraries easy by running the 'installbass.sh' script included in the archive. This script will need your administrator password to copy the libraries to '/usr/lib'.

sh ./installbass.sh

If you are using a Linux distro based on debian you can, instead of running the previous command, download and install basslibs_2.4.10.deb (32 bit)

Arch User Repository


NOOBSLAB added XiX Music Player to their PPA.  Everything will install with just 3 commands in Ubuntu 15.04/14.10/14.04/12.04/Linux Mint 17.1/17/13/ and other Ubuntu derivatives.


sudo add-apt-repository ppa:noobslab/apps

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install xix-media-player

Fedora 18 - KDE Install QT4PAS library. (libqt4pas)


Mint


(V) Mint 11 - Gnome (32 bit):  Works out of the box

(V) Mint 13 - Cinnamon (Gnome) (32 bit):  Works out of the box, however:

There is a bug in Linux Mint 13 that prevents the application from downloading the lyrics and update information. To solve this problem, you just need to run the following command: sudo dpkg-reconfigure resolvconf

(V) Mint 14 - Cinnamon (Gnome) (32 bit):  Works out of the box

(V) Mint 15 - Cinnamon (Gnome) (32 bit):  Works out of the box

(V) Mint 16 - Cinnamon (Gnome) (32 bit):  Works out of the box - Needs latest version 0.31d to work correctly on some hardware

(V) Mint 17 - Cinnamon (32 bit & 64 bit):  Works out of the box

(V) Mint 17 - KDE (32 bit & 64 bit): Install QT4PAS library. (COMMAND: apt-get install libqt4pas)

                 


OpenSuse


(V) OpenSuse 12.3 - Gnome (32 bit):  Works out of the box

(V) OpenSuse 12.3 - KDE (32 bit):  Works out of the box, however:

First time wizard does not show the folders that are choosen.  You can change the folder settings in the configuration dialog. (Solved from 0.23 and above)

Install QT4PAS library. (libqt4pas)

Ubuntu


(X) Ubuntu 13.4:  Reports of not working.  Probably due to missing libraries.

(?) Ubuntu 13.10:  Ubuntu 13.10 does not work on my machine

(V) Ubuntu 14.04:  Works

Linux (Raspberry Pi - ARM)


(V) Raspbian - Hard Float:  Works out of the box  (rPi 1 & rPi2)
