The player is still in early testing (alpha) phase, so do not expect everything to work yet.
NOOBSLAB added XiX Music Player to their PPA. Everything will install with just 3 commands in Ubuntu 14.04/13.10/13.04/12.10/12.04/Linux Mint 16/15/14/13/ and other Ubuntu derivatives:
32bit: THhis Repo contains an older version!!!
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:noobslab/apps
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install xix-media-player
Make sure the BASS libraries are installed. You can install these libraries easy by running the 'installbass.sh' script included in the archive. This script will need your administrator password to copy the libraries to '/usr/lib'. You can also download the latest BASSLIBS.DEB
Added OPUS & APE. UPDATED THE BASS Libraries. Please run installbass.sh again.
If you are using a Linux distro based on debian you can, instead of running the previous command, download and install basslibs_2.4.10-3.deb (OPUS & APE added) - 32bit
Linux (Raspberry Pi, Odroid - ARM)
Make sure the BASS libraries are installed. You can install these libraries easy by running the 'installbass.sh' script included in the archive. This script will need your administrator password to copy the libraries to '/usr/lib'.
To make use of the MP3 or FLAC encoder you need to install LAME and/or FLAC. These are however not yet used in the ARM version.
0.32 and above: NEW BASS LIBRARIES. Please run installbass.sh again. Better Pulseaudio support.
This version is not very well tested. Please report errors and/or bugs.
If you want to rip DVD Tracks to MP3/FLAC you will need to install mplayer for windows. (Experimental support). You will need to use the configuration dialog to set the right path to the mplayer application.

MacOS development is back on track.
If you want to rip CD Tracks to MP3/FLAC you will need to install lame and/or flac for MacOS.
10.9 (Maverick): mplayer needs X11 to be installed. (mplayer is needed if you want to rip DVD-Tracks to MP3)
